Welcome to Captain Pauly’s Podcast! I have been a fishing guide in Venice, Louisiana for the last decade. During my time guiding I've met some of the most entertaining characters and heard some of the most incredible stories you can imagine. After much thought, I decided to create my own podcast to preserve and encapsulate these stories to the best of my ability. My guests include charter captains, tournament fishermen, commercial fishermen, boat builders, marine biologists, fishing industry professionals, and many avid recreational fishermen! Tim Fortney was a Coast Guard rescue swimmer for 22 years. He is accredited with over 92 saves following Hurricane Katrina that devastated the northern Gulf Coast. Tim is truly an American hero and I was honored for him to come on my show to share his time in the Coast Guard with me. Enjoy!

Aaron Wilmoth was born and raised in south Louisiana. He has been an inshore and offshore guide in Venice for many years now. This past February he guided the boat that broke the record for the largest yellowfin tuna in the gulf at 272lbs! I decided to have him on my podcast to tell us the full story! Enjoy!

Josh Collier fished with the Intense Pro Fishing team for 19 seasons. They have been on the leader boards across the country for decades! He now fishes on the Fat Chick and they are lined up to fish 11 tournaments in the northern gulf this year. Josh had a super unique upbringing into fishing and he told some really cool stories. Captain Jerry Murphy has been commercial fishing his entire life. In 1992, when he was the captain of the ‘mistake’, he found the El Cazador, a Spanish ship wreck that sank in 1784. After finding the treasure, they did 3 different excavation efforts and recovered over 12,000 pounds of silver coins from the wreck site! Captain Jerry Murphy was an incredible story teller. In the beginning, he tells a story about how he capsized a vessel that he built, and after that he gets into how he became the captain of the mistake and how he ended up finding the treasure! Enjoy!

Andy Fountain comes from a long line of boat builders here along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He did the bulk of restoring my boat, the Lily Faith, which is a 1954 fully wooden 50’ Biloxi lugger by Cavocavich. I loved hearing Andy talk about the boat and hearing how he grew up working on wooden boats with his family. I am now offering a Seacutterie cruise on the Lily Faith!
